We often view the role of the CIO as focused on ensuring that the business is able to leverage information technology to innovate the company’s products and services. Certainly improving productivity, securing the organization’s valued asset – information, and ensuring the company meets is compliance obligations are also up in the list of CIO duties and responsibilities.

But a critical role of the new breed of CIO is as change agent. The CIO must be able to interpret the vision of the company and communicate how technology can be aligned to realize the vision. The communication aspect of the role is the unwritten job spec that all successful CIOs share.

In this Fintech Innovation exclusive interview, we spoke to Henk ten Bos, chief information officer at Ageas Insurance in Hong Kong.
