Panel discussion: Building Foundations to Real Time Infrastructure & Cloud – What You need to do to prepare?

In 2011, driven by more and more demands from business to drive value and keep costs under control, data centers will begin their second transformation in five years, from virtualized, consolidated, and centralized IT infrastructure to a service-oriented, economically efficient set of IT capabilities –(in many cases Private Clouds as ultimate stage). Enterprises are taking a stepped/phased approach to achieve successful mature Real Time infrastructures investing in strategies such as Virtualization, Convergence & Modernization (including servers and other technologies beyond servers i.e. storage, hvds, fabric).  The new data center will enable business units to consume IT as a service, host critical apps and data, and augment capacity using the external cloud. This transformation is the result of pressure external cloud computing exacts on IT organizations to compete with cloud providers and the desire to support a growing and increasingly complex remote and mobile workforce. In this Panel Discussion, we will explore the Business drivers, technology innovations, challenges and IT trends that enable IT organizations to build internal private clouds, virtualize the desktop, bridge to external clouds, and increase data center resiliency while reducing capital and operational costs.
